Meet BigMacDaddy
(but you can call me Bert!)
Web Designer & Content Management for Boone, Blowing Rock and the High Country
Hi, I’m Bert Brimberry.
I’m a web designer, content creator, and business educator based in Boone, NC. Providing outstanding service and delivering High-Quality Websites is at the core of everything I do.
For the past four decades, I have been blessed to collaborate with entrepreneurs from all corners of the country. My mission has been to help them increase their revenue and maximize their profits.
Now, I am dedicated to creating websites that can work harder than you do in your business.
My Story
From Sales to Ministry to Website Design.
In the beginning…
I was born and raised in southwest Georgia, at the time, a small and tight-knit community of people.
My father and mother were successful entrepreneurs with a large independent insurance agency that employed over 20 people. I think the entrepreneurial gene was passed to me because I’ve always enjoyed being in business for myself and helping others thrive in their own business.
My life path was similar to many friends who graduated from high school, went to college, got a job, and then married. I was fortunate to find and marry my college sweetheart. We’ve been married for 47 years, and it’s incredible how time flies when you’re having fun. We are blessed to have two grown children (a boy and a girl) who are happy and healthy.
Who is BigMacDaddy?
Somehow, the kids named me BigMacDaddy because I am almost 6 feet and 4 inches tall and topped out at 240 pounds, and I love anything Apple-Mac-related technology. So they concluded I’m “Big,” always involved with my “Mac,” and am their “Daddy.” Now that I’m working full-time in website design and development, it only makes sense that my business is BigMacDaddy Design, right?
A love for technology
I bought My first personal computer in 1986, and I still remember the modems and our first internet service, AOL. My wife still has her email account with AOL, which is hard for me to believe. I first started blogging in 2007 and then built websites through an application called Rapid Weaver. Over the years, I made many websites for myself, my family, and my friends.
My path to a web design business
Then, in 2017, we sold our home at the Isle of Palms, SC, and moved to the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. Most of the vendors I contacted didn’t have websites or were limited. One day, I told my wife that a web design business would be my perfect entrepreneurial opportunity. So I started taking coding classes to learn HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other front-end coding languages. Over the next two years, I continued to build websites and even put my portfolio on Instagram, where I got over 5,000 followers within the year.
The ultimate problem was the time and effort it took to build a single website with individual coding. One day, while talking to me on the phone, my daughter suggested I try Squarespace and see how I liked the results. It didn’t take long before I built multiple websites each week and understood the benefits of a drag-and-drop protocol. The more I researched and worked with Squarespace, the more confident I became in using it as my go-to tool for creating and developing website design.
BigMacDaddy Designs: Present Day
In 2022, I started BigMacDaddy Designs. I like to work with small business owners who understand that a website needs to develop revenue on the top line to generate profit for the bottom line. The owners I work with are looking to rank on the front page of Google, have a plan for marketing online, and frequently need ongoing coaching in their particular businesses.
My 45 years of working with clients lends itself to my understanding of the problems and solutions when running a successful company.
A Few Facts About Me.
I am an only child, sometimes known as the lonely only.
I have lived in 5 homes in 3 states, all in the south.
I have three dogs: Savannah, Bear, and Finley.
I played the guitar in a group called the “Blue Chips.”
I played on a tennis scholarship in college.
I was ordained as a senior pastor in 2005.
I’ve been married for 47 years to my college sweetheart, Nancy.
I took professional magic lessons in sleight of hand.
The BigMacDaddy Strategy
Your website is often the first point of contact for potential customers, so it needs to be a strong representation of your brand and business. If you put more effort and time into your work than your website, it may be time to make changes.
One way to determine if your website works as hard as you are is to look at its functionality and user experience. Is it easy to navigate? Are all the links working? Is the design visually appealing? These critical factors can impact a visitor's experience on your site. If your website is unfriendly or outdated, it may turn potential customers away.
Don't let your hard work go to waste by neglecting your website. Keep it updated, user-friendly, and visually appealing to make a strong impression on potential customers.
Another aspect to consider is the content on your website. Is it up-to-date and relevant? Are you regularly adding new and engaging content? Your website should be a source of information and value for your audience. If it's not regularly updated, it can give the impression that your business is not active or current.
In conclusion, your website should work hard to attract and retain customers. Regularly evaluating its functionality, content, SEO, and design can help ensure that it is an effective tool for your business.
